  • So where do I go from here???

I was doing well on OWL 4. I am 11 weeks on program and 29# lost. I am on a low residue diet for a week and then can restart my Atkins with modifications.

I know it is disputed but I am going to stay away from strawberries and whole nuts. I had eaten strawberries several times over the previous weeks prior to my diverticulitis. I don't think nut meal/flour will cause a problem though.

I was considering going on to OWL 6 (non drinker) but since I have spent the last two weeks on very few carbs what do you think?

Also, I still have 60# to lose. How far do you think I can go up the ladder. I am keeping my carbs below 40 no matter what rung I am on. I will increase that when I am within 30# of goal. I am thinking that I will be able to find my CCL then.

    Thanks
    Tricia

You can skip any rung or any foods on a particular rung. There's no reason to eat a food that you cannot eat for whatever reason.

Please find your CCLL as soon as you can. Some folks wait until they are close to goal and guess what? They spend their Pre-Maintenance Phase looking for their CCLL, when they should be spending that time looking for their CCML. So it really defeats the purpose of getting you ready for Maintenance Phase. Maintenance ain't easy---ask the Maintainers---the more time you spend on Pre-Maintenance, losing slowly like Dr. Atkins advised, the more you will learn how to maintain that goal weight.

I only lost about 6 or 7 lbs when I did induction. I figured my CCLL would be pretty low. I will consider searching for it sooner than later.

You'll have to look it up in the charts in the book, but your metabolic resistance is probably moderate, not low. Also, if you are a "regular" exerciser (as Dr. Atkins defined "regular") your CCLL and CCML may be greater than 60.
