This forum is all about behavioral support. Take the time to read it without any biases you might have and you will see the encouragement in all the different threads and groups.

I was not talking about the forum. I was asking about the support presented by Atkins. What solutions does he offer for emotional eating and food addiction?

Where is your evidence? What is your control group? I, as well as my peers here, and your "colleagues" (a term I am using rather loosely) in the medical field would LOVE to see your research. When can we expect you to be published in the NEJoM? Science Today? **** I'd even take Highlights for Children.

Where is Atkins? I mean can you point me to a study that give % success on Atkins. Can you refer me to a study using controls? I know that you can't because none have been done.


In order for this to be "censorship of the worst kind" you would actually have to be censored. So far you have been allowed to express your thoughts and opinions freely. You are, however, on an Atkins support bulletin board and it is crystal clear that you have not come as a friend, nor even as a person who is interested in finding the truth about Atkins or learning about all the success stories that are on this board. The only thing you are interested in is driving home a point that you feel to be true. You aren't asking questions, you are making statements. There is a vast difference. If you were truly a "researcher" as you are indicating you are, you would know the distinction between the two.

Not really. Stifling speech with threats is a form of censorship. I have read Atkins' book. And I have been lurking for a long time. I also have a pretty good handle on biology.

This is NOT a forum for debate... there are plenty of those kind of forums on the internet. I would suggest that you go find one of those, rather than continue to stir up trouble on a support board.

Of course we encourage discussion here... but it is obvious that you are not just gathering information... you have an agenda, and it is not in keeping with the purpose of this board.

If a diet/weight loss plan/nutritional approach works for the 2% of people who stick with it, why say that it doesn't work? It obviously does work for some people. Yes, I agree that the people on this board are more motivated and therefore are more likely to succeed than the general public.

If you have some magical way of motivating the entire population so that 98% succeed, by all means, enlighten us.

I hate to in effect feed the trolls, but trying to convince a group of people that is already motivated that they're doing it wrong when it is working for them... what's the point? Write your book providing a better alternative and prove us all wrong.

For someone who claims to be a professional. You sure don't follow the TOS rules of this site. Maybe you oughta check them out before you post again. Especially Rule # 1.
