  • Have any of you noticed you lose more weight if.....

    I have read many posts here with people saying they lose more weight when they consume red meat. Anybody think there's anything to that? I did eat more red meat and had faster weight loss on a previous Atkins journey and was just wondering if anyone has noticed the same thing.

    I do, but my "theory" is that I tend to cook it with more fats than I cook my white meats in. I prefer my chicken and turkey grilled or oven baked, whereas I often fry my steaks.

    Don't know if there is any logic in that "theory", but that's what I think.

      Yeah, I tend to think this is more about the fat content. I have lost more previous times without eating any red meat, but it was always with fat.. and I eat lean (at least 92%) cow now...

        I tend to slow down after red meat so I guess I am the odd woman out on this. LOL

          I have actually noticed that when I go out and have a HUGE steak that the next morning I will weigh less. I absolutely LOVE red meat (which is funny cuz a few years back, I read the book fast food nation and gave UP red meat for a year!) - but if i could have a steak or a burger every day, i'd be happy! :P

          but to answer your question - yes, I lose when I eat red meat.
