  • Dairy Free Atkins?

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who does a dairy-free version of Atkins. I love cheese and dairy products, and have a hard time limiting them to 3-4 oz per day. I usually do so, but I have always felt that it was part of the reason that my weight loss slows. Had anyone out there avoided them all together and seen positive results?

    Thanks,
    Kelly

    Re: Dairy Free Atkins?

I have a serious love affair with pepperjack cheese. So I only allow myself to eat it one meal a day, maybe twice a week, and only an ounce or two, and I don't eat cream cheese at all, because its so easy to overdo it, especially if its sweetened with splenda and vanilla. I actually made a batch of that induction friendly cheesecake mix with the intention of just keeping it in the freezer for a now and then treat, and after licking on the spoon WAY too much I decided I didn't want it in the house! lol so I gave it away to my boyfriends parents.

I know- I always want another serving! Do you eat 3-4 oz of cheese still, or less?

I love, love cheese, but do much better if I go dairy free. In all forms, dairy slows me down. Just the fact that you have so much trouble controling how much you eat of a certain food is an indication that it is a trigger food for you.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

            Hi Kelly,

Yes, I am completely dairy free ONLY because I am severely allergic to all dairy.....I wish I could eat it, I look at all the options on Atkins being able to eat dairy and I drool!!!!

Having said that, I am quite happy eating the way I am and have achieved success.

            All the best to you!
