  • So about this Induction 10% weight loss rule..

Is this all the weight you lose on induction, or minus the water weight? Because i'm only on like day 11 and lost 10lbs so far, but I don't have 100 lbs to lose.

5-10% of the weight needed to be lost is what most folks lose after the two-week Induction period. If you lose more than that, lucky you.

And it isn't any kind of limit, the percentage of your weight that you lose during a good induction tells you something about your individual body system. The larger a percentage you lose, the less metabolically resistant your body is. If you can lose 10 percent you are doing well and not metabolically resistant, if you lose less, you are somewhat more MR. You evidently don't have a MR problem! Yay you! lol

About the water weight.....Unless you get your % body fat measured before you start and again on Day 14, there's really no way to tell how much of your loss is water or fat. Dr. Atkins, however, wrote that after the first 3 or 4 days, the weight you are losing is fat weight, not water weight.
