  • I've passed the test...so far

The night before last, after reading the posts about the dreamfields pasta I went home craving it...I really wanted some with my cheese sauce, but instead I fried four eggs (I know alot but this is all I had for dinner) and made a little of my cheese sauce and ate that, it was very filling and I really felt good not caving to the pasta.

Last night I get home and went straight to the kitchen and put a pot of water on to heat to eat my pasta...I went in the livingroom and sat down thinking about the pasta, I had every intention to eat some, I had already rationalized that yesterday was day 9 and that I deserved it (I'd been thinking about the pasta all day) I went in the kitchen to put the pasta in the pot (still having full intention of eating it) and found myself taking the pot of hot water off of the jet, pouring the water out and replacing the pot with my egg pan, I fried 4 eggs and made my cheese sauce and ate that instead. I really felt good about my decision. I am almost at OWL and did not want to blow it. I also have a weigh in on Friday (doc) so I wanted to be able to show her an impressive loss. I will be at the rung that will allow me to eat the dreamfields soon, no need messing things up now....

My non-scale victory for the past two days!

      Good for you.

There are pasta alternatives that are legal for Induction and non-grains OWLers. They include spaghetti squash (which is very nutritious) and an "egg" noodle. Egg noodle is made by beating an egg or two, adding a pinch of garlic powder, salt and pepper and some grated parmesan cheese. Oil a microwave safe plate, pour the egg mixture onto it and microwave it for about 1-2 minutes until the egg is completely set. Peel off the egg pancake, then roll it and slice. I like these egg noodles in chicken soup or sauteed with other veggie noodles (broccoli stems, asparagus stems, zucchini, snow peas sliced into match-stick sizes.)

I will try this, sounds interesting...do they taste like the egg noodles we used to purchase in the market? I like eating my noodles with butter and cheese sauce...yummmmmmy.

          bbb.
Check out this recipe. I LOVE this one and even my non-Atkins wife loves it. It is for Zucchini Alfredo with chicken. I dont know if youve seen this site or not, but it has some good recipes.

that looks sooooo good. It also looks induction freindly...I only have 3 more days to go but I think I will use the zucchini as an added veggie on rung 1 of OWL and use this recipe each day (three days that I can have another veggie).

              Thanks!
