  • 1 sweet weakness!

I have been on the Atkins with my fiance for about 1 month now. We both lost about 15 pounds each. I went from 162 to 147lbs. We have been following as best we could, but following the strict NO BREAD-NO PASTA, and NO SUGAR really well. I wanted to ask one question. I have a terrible weakness to Coconut Edy's fruit bars. I have not had any obviously in a very long time, but when I was in the supermarket today, amongst my meats, veggies, and Splenda, I broke down and bought a box. I have been substituting ice cream, with Sugar Free Jello (with a shot of whipped cream), and Sugar Free Ice Pops. Is there a "most amount" of sugar one can have in one day, and is it okay to treat yourself or indulge in these items once in a while?

    Thanks a bunch!!!!

There is a "most" amount you can have in a day. None. You never add back in sugar and white flour. Sugar and Atkins do not go together.

Coconut is something that you can have when you get to rung 3, seeds and nuts, in OWL (ongoing weight loss). You can make your own coconut treats with unsweetened coconut and coconut milk (unsweetened) and coconut oil. Coconut oil and coconut in general is very healthy.

You have done well with your weight loss, so you don't want to go back to old habits that will get you off track and keep you off track.

From the sounds of your post, I don't think you have read the book and know that induction is not the whole diet. After induction, you start adding back in nuts, seeds, berries, other fruits, starchy veggies and whole grains.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
