thanx for your help, but i am already a very active person.maybe i should describe myself a bit better: i weigh under 9 stone and am a size 10 for 5'8''. i literally only need to lose about 1 stone.maybe for some of you this seems silly, but i am a very slim built person, and over the past months i have just been binging constantly which has made me put on a stone.

i am insomniac, there is no amount more of exercise i do will help that.

i just want to know if i can continue to take my sleeping pills? thanx

You didn't tell us exactly what's in them. Can you post here what's written on the label? Or maybe tell us the name of the product and we can find it online.

If you're dependant on sleeping pills, you probably want to mention that to your doc. Do you have a high caffiene intake? Anxiety? Stress? Depression? Taking OTC sleeping pills every night isn't all that good for you. At least if they were prescription sleeping pills, your doseage would be monitored by a doc.

Hmmm.... corn starch.... not crazy about that ingredient. Not sure about the rest of it.

                    Re: sleeping pills

Here is the list of ingredients:
                    Tablets

                    25 mg
Each white, uncoated tablet, imprinted with an "N" on one side, contains diphenhydramine HCl 25 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cornstarch, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, and stearic acid.

                    50 mg
Each blue, uncoated tablet, imprinted with an "N" on one side, contains diphenhydramine HCl 50 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cornstarch, FD&C Blue No. 1 Aluminum Lake, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, and stearic acid.

                    Capsules: Extra Strength Quickgels
Each clear, light yellow, soft gel capsule, imprinted with a white "N" on one side, contains diphenhydramine HCl 50 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: edible ink, gelatin, glycerin, polyethylene glycol, sorbitol, and water.

They do contain "illegal" ingredients, but if you have to take them, then I wouldn't worry. In 25-50 mg, the amount of carbohydrate is insignificant.

I know you won't like what I'm gonna say, but I have to restate what Miss Phode said. Does your doctor know that you are taking over the counter sleeping pills? As you most probably know already, it is not recommended to take Nytol for more than 14 days in a row...

Someone asked me before about my weight loss, so here is the link to that thread: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...eorgianna.html

Okay. That's about it. I'll go vandalize other threads now.

                    I hope you'll get a good night's sleep.

Have you tried melatonin? It's not a quick fix as it takes your body a bit to adjust, but it has been a LIFESAVER for me. Here's a link on a similar discussion a while back
