  • From now on, I will...

I was so disappointed yesterday when I weighed myself and saw I'd only lost one pound for the week. It was my second week of induction (after starting over after Spring Break), and I was hoping for more. And now today, I'm ashamed of that attitude. So I've decided to make myself a promise, inspired by Keriann's signature ( "I vow to lose 1 pound 36 times
~I've already lost 1 pound 15 times. Just 21 more times to go!~"):

From now on, I will celebrate every pound I lose as if it were 10 pounds!

hi!!!!!! joining my turtle club, are ya?!!! :P

slow and steady wins the race! and maybe you're a wait and whoosh type of person too. it is extremely frustrating - but something else I always tell myself - if I only lose 0.5 pounds per week - then on this day next year I'll be 26 pounds lighter (and be at goal for my wedding!)

Just always remember - you're changing your habits for your health. It's NOT just about the number on the scale - in fact, the fact that that number goes down is really just a "side effect" of atkins - and atkins is all about getting the sugar out of your system and learning to eat right!!

    good luck!!!!!

That's a perfect way to look at it!

I only averaged a loss of between 1 and 2 pounds a week (including Induction weight!) for my whole journey... which meant that some weeks I lost 2, most weeks I lost 1, and some weeks I lost 0 pounds. But those losses surely do add up!

        Hahaha, it's official. I'm a turtle.

I know weight loss comes second to getting healthy. And I feel like I'm eating better than ever. I feel great. I'm not even napping in the middle of the day anymore! (Well, unless I didn't get to sleep until very late the night before. )

I will be proud of every pound because every step down is a step in the right direction.

Re: From now on, I will...

Irish, I was thinking about it this morning. I have been overweight for 40 years, obese (in medical terms) for thirty years. So if it takes me 2 or 3 to take it off, I guess that's not so bad. In fact it will be pretty quick considering.

Every pound less is an extra amount of time added to your life. Every pound less is more than a pound of stress of your knees. Every pound less means you look that one pound better. Every pound less puts you closer to that next pant size. Every pound less says I was successful this week because my weight or inches are still moving in the right direction.

          GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
          GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
          FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
