  • Discrepancies between DANDR & Atkins website Carb Counters

    Hi all,

I've been happily using the carb counter on the atkins website as it is more convenient than the one in the book. However I noticed that meals I prepared referring the the book's counter have very different carb counts to the ones using the PDF (http://www.atkins.com/Files/AtkinsCarbCounter.pdf)

Looking at the PDF file, it seems that the DANDR has "gross" carbs and the PDF file has net carbs (and gross/dietary fibre). If I recall correctly the book shows you how to count NET carbs on food labelling, yet gives gross carbs in the book! So now I look back over my menus, I have had too few carbs from veges on the days I used the carb counter in the book.

What are other people's thoughts on this??

GHB, the quick gram counter in the front of DANDR 2002 does show total carbs.

However, if you go to the detailed carbohydrate gram counter pages starting on page 492, it lists total carbs AND net carbs.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Sunny_0ne, I feel like an idiot! Fortunately I used the net carb counter more than the one at the front of the book, and am losing heaps

I'll have to make the one in the back into a little carry card like the one in the front
