  • post gallbladder question

I had my GB removed last year-
does anyone know if this slows weight loss on AD?
I've been LC'g for two weeks and I'm only down 5 pounds. I am a 275lb guy that is active, also drinking my required water and staying below 15 carbs/day. Prior to having this removed, I could lose at least 15lbs in two weeks.
The gallbladder removal is the only thing I can point to for my disappointment in losing wt..
    Very frustrating.
    thx

Big Joe, there could be a skillion reasons why your having this hesitation to your weight loss and it's best just to relax, stick to plan and stay off the scale.
BUT you might want to post your menu to have the experts take a look to see if they can see something your don't.

If your menu is perfectly in line with the rules in DANDR, then I think you should discuss the problem with your doctor. That being said, we have several members on the Board who had their gallbladder removed and are doing very well on Atkins.

There are many low carb plans, but on this board we are following Atkins and we go by Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution, 2002. So while the members of ADBB have had success with this way of eating even after having their gallbladder removed, we are not familiar with how gallbladder surgery affects weight loss on other low carb diets.
