i woke up with a burning sensation in a part of my foot. and my skin all over is feelng extremely sensitive, like kinda itchy/tingly.
i dont have any red marks or rashes or bumps. and to the touch, everywhere is at normal temperature, even though it feels quite hot inside.

the burning in the foot has now stopped. but the itchy feeling of my skin hasnt.

its not bad or painful. its just slightly annoying.

i'm on day 14 induction. has anyone had this? what could it be? acidity in the skin maybe caused by the diet??

No, you do not get itchy skin from Atkins. Did you check for bite marks? Did you eat something you don't usually have?

Jane, this is a new one to me too. The symptoms sound like athletes foot. Are you working out more now that you are on program? The sweaty socks could aggravate this and the burning itching might be relievedwith athletes foot cream. That is all I can think of.

          Re: sensitive skin

I started having an extremely itchy rash about a month and a half ago. It would come and go and was concentrated on my chest, neck, and arms. It started when I had a bad cold a persisted for over a month. It was worse in the evenings. My doctor put me on prednisone for it. That didn't help. I finally decided that I had developed an allergy to seafood--specifically shell-fish like shrimp and crab. I was eating that stuff nearly every day, and I believe that I overdid it. After staying away from these food for awhile, the symptoms went away. I can now eat some seafood here and there without a flare. To make a long story short, I start to check if any foods are the root cause. Also, sometimes gout will cause foot pain, but I hear the pain is extremely intense and unmistakable. It doesn't sound like yours is that bad...just annoying.
