  • good ketosis - not so good weight loss

Hi all! I'm new to Adkins. My question is this - I am in induction and on day 8. My ketosticks have been dark purple, so I know I'm doing something right. However, my weight has not dropped any in 5 days. I've been religious about not eating anything off the diet. Any diet saving suggestions? thanks in advance!

Stay off the scales for a few days.Notice how your clothes fit and access that instead. You are OK.

Very common, and don't worry about it, except if your dark purple you might not be drinking enough water.
Ketosis doesn't always mean your burning body fat, only fat which could be the fat you are eating. Scales are also not a good indictor of weight loss, some folks lose inches and dress/pant sizes and don't lose any scale weight.
Also, the first week we lose a lot of water weight and then slowly the fat weight starts to come off. Keep at it, stay off the scales, drink your water It will come off.

Post a menu. Many people who are new at this think they are doing a clean induction and aren't. Purple on ketostix could be from dehydration vice ketosis. Tell us everything that went in your mouth for a day including beverages and gum/mints and we can find out what's going on with you.

You could post a menu just in case but as the others say take a measure, stay off the scales for a bit and drink plenty of water is probably your best bet right now.

are you exercising? getting enough water? the eating part is just part of the process....do you take a multi-vitamin daily? I agree you need to stay off the scale make sure you are eating only food on the acceptable food list and following the rules correctly. The weight will come off you have to be patient.
