Hi all. I have a different story than the typical "I'm back" or "I'm starting again" threads. I did Atkins in the past with good success. I've never been overweight, but had gained weight from medical conditions. I started it again before Christmas and liked it again. Anyway, I had to go "off" for medical reasons. My doc and I were testing some theories and I couldn't do Atkins to the letter. The diet was the traditional "healthy" diet with a balance of carbs and protein and some fat. It wasn't to lose weight either. Anyway, I'm glad I did that because it just helped reiterate that I just don't do well with grains. I actually don't seem to do well with a lot of fruit either. I am much much better medically now and I am convinced that this way of life is really whats best for me. I need high fat because it helps my medical stuff actually.
So I'm just reintroducing myself. I'm 32yrs old next week. I am currently 145-148lbs and 5'7". I need to lose about 10 lbs to get back to what I was before I was sick. I have been working out for awhile now, but was a slug for 2 yrs while I was sick. My exercise routine consists of 3 days a week of intense strength training and 3 days a week of moderate cardio with high intensity intervals worked in. That's the minimum. On top of that I walk 30-45 minutes daily and also throw in extra cardio when I'm up to it.
So that's me. I hope to get to know you all better. Thanks for reading.
Bree
