  • half-serious question about chests!

i really doubt theres any answer, but on the slight offchance, i might as well ask lol.
ladies, specially those of you who've lost a bit already...
how do i get my friggin chest to shrink?!

Today is my 1 month anniversary, i've lost about 10 inches (more than that actually, as i didn't measure till about 2 weeks in i think) but zero of those have come off my girls. i thought one day they finally went down half an inch, but it was just the bra i was wearing i think.
ugh. they seem to be the first place i gain and the last place i lose! they're dd right now and i can't imagine everything else shrinking -but- them, i'll look all lopsided!
how soon did y'all notice a bust size change?

    Re: half-serious question about chests!

Some people lose lots of pounds from the chest, but not everyone. Usually the people that do are the same ones that don't want to. I lost 120 pounds and my cup size increased. I had to have a SECOND breast reduction in 2007. I had one back in 1989 when I had never even been overweight. Heavy chests are a heredity curse in my family. My poor daughter weighed 95 pounds and had to have her bras special made. She was tiny boned, so there was no bra for a 26 inch ribcage measurement and F cups.

Incidentally, my surgeon was a man and with a second very painful reduction, he left me with DD's! I was not pleased. He got mad at me when I told him he didn't take enough. He asked if I had wanted a mastectomy. I told him that would have been fine--breasts are nothing but a nuisance.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

The answer to the first question is....stay on Atkins. They'll shrink. It's mostly fatty tissue and it too will melt away. I was DD, maybe more....they're shrinking now. There's so much extra room in my bra cups now, I could put my lunch in there!! I need new bras. I hate shopping for them though. I'll wait for an intervention from friends again!

I lose there right away but it's REALLY obvious to me now after 3.5 months. Be patient...it WILL happen.

It's the strangest thing... I, too, thought I was going to hit goal without losing any in my chest. I kept my full D cups for about 95% of my journey... I had to go down in band size, but the cups remained the same. Then, in the last 5 to 10 pounds, they went down to a B! LOL... it seemed like almost overnight, they shrunk.

But whenever I slip up and put on a few pounds, they are one of the first places to inflate (along with my Buddha belly).

          Hey Kibs

My chest is almost always the last place to show any loss.. I too look forward to losing some of my upper weight.. especially as my tummy slims down it just makes my chest seem out of proportion.

I'm only down 13 lbs and think I'm about 20 more from seeing any significant loss there....

last time I lost about 30lbs and maybe an inch or two in my cup size, but not really enough to even change bras. I was also only a c/d back then so i didnt really worry about it, since i'm 5'10 it worked ok without being obscene lol. Large chests are a curse in my family too sunny, my moms about 5'4 and almost a d, and my cousin had dds when she was 14. then she had a thyroid problem that made her shrink from being a slightly overweight teen to a skinny B-chested hotty overnight. the lucky dog

if it were possible i'd ask you to send some my way!!!!!!

No matter my body/waist size...i've always been small - which is probably a blessing just cuz i know my mom had to have reduction surgery after she had me (if i remember she was up to an F)...

              Yet here's me - i'll be totally honest - I've got a large ribcage / wide shoulders so I wear a 42 B!!!!! it sucks.

so - if it were possible - I'd take any of yours you could pass me over.

Oof ... I'm hoping and praying that some of mine will go away ... been a DD since I was 13 years old. Promised myself that I'd get a reduction when I meet my final goal weight, although the way gravity's pulling at me it'll be more of a roll-and-tuck by then.

LOL Kib, I will trade you! I have a big butt and very big legs---no matter how much I lose I always lose it from the calves and saddlebags last. The girls are the first thing to go (which makes me look like a Hershey's kiss instead of a pear) It's crazy isn't it?

I didnt lose anything from my chest. I went from a 36 DDD to a 32 G, so my back size got smaller but my cups stayed the same size, and unfortunately looked bigger on my then smaller frame!

                      Re: half-serious question about chests!

I tend to lose weight from the top down- the first place I lose is my face -then my chest-the last to go are my butt and thighs. For a few weeks there- I had gone from a xl shirt to a medium while my pant size hadn't changed ( still a 14+)- I was definitely pear shaped!- still am just not as bad- in the last month I haven't changed on top but my lower half has gone down to a 11/12 - I went from a 40C to a 36 B and I was thrilled- I had always been an A or a B- those Cs just kept getting in my way lol.
Personally- sometimes I wish the old myth about targeting one area will let you lose in one area when we all know -sigh- that while strength training will change your body it cannot change what absolutely does not want to be changed. ( saddlebags be gone darn it!)frantically waving magic wand here........

Sadly, I've a LOT of the 25 lbs I've lost from my chest it seems! I always hated my breasts and their size, but now that they're shrinking, I'm terribly sad!
I guess you just don't know how much you'll miss something till it's gone... lol

hahaha well i certainly wont miss mine! genetically i dont think i will get any smaller than a C, but it sure would be a lot easier to workout if they'd just shrink already!

I would love to enjoy missing mine if the surgeon had actually removed enough for them to go away.

Some people are meant to have big chests - and I disagree it is fatty tissue that will eventually go away. I have a friend that has lost over 50 pounds are her girls are huge, still. They aren't going anywhere - she was simply born to have them and will need a reduction if she wants them smaller.
