  • unusual side effect from losing weight. bruises on bones!

apparently i'm not used to not being cushy all over. i was wrestling with the boyfriend the other day (i like to show off my kindergarden-level judo skills) and got an elbow in the ribs. it wasn't terribly hard or anything, but man that hurt. i rubbed it, and can feel my ribs! not poking out or anything malnourished i'm still 36 inches in my ribs, but i can actually feel them now.

then i noticed a few nights ago i can sleep on my side again. before i never slept on my side with my legs together because it always ended up hurting my back unless i had a pillow between my legs. but now i can, so i do! unfortunately, i just noticed bruises on the inside of both my knees where they touch when i sleep. weeeeird.

i've also noticed when i something hits my collar bones (usually my insane cat) it hurts where it never did before.

I remember that! Sleeping started to become really uncomfortable because the extra padding was gone

The upside is that your bruising shouldn't last as long!

I've never been able to sleep with my knees together. Even as a kid, I slept with a pillow between my knees. It must be hereditary, because I never let my daughter sleep with me, but when she was still tiny, she would put her little silk baby pillow between her knees, while she was still sleeping in a crib. It was so cute! It was so me!

What hurts me is my bony butt. I don't have much butt to begin with, but that is where I lose first. When I am somewhere for a long time, like choir practice, sitting on a metal chair, I have to have a pillow to sit on. Our seats in the choir loft are padded, but after a while I am dying to wiggle and sit on a different cheek. Alas, the choir director reminds us often that we are being video taped all the time and all shuffling around is picked up by camera and the powerful mics right over our head. It's torture.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
