hi.. all... I stopped atkins to see if this high fat... is bothering my gallbladder.. I seemed to have pain under the right rib cage after eating my breakfast on wednesday and thursday.. scrambled eggs with butter and a small portion of avacado.. same breakfast I always have.. with grated cheddar cheese. I had pains radiating to my back.. lots and lots of bad gas and fatty stools which were very loose... grey in color. I dont know if it is a bug... or gallbladder... or IBS... all I know... now.. that I reduced my fats,,, and increased my carbs.. I am not having pain. maybe the avacado was bad? I used the same one for those two days. anyway... I am still the same weight...but... I am going back on Atkins... tomorrow... and see if the pain and the stool return.. this am.. Lia

hey! i hope you feel better!!! course, my advice to you is this - GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!
if you're having pain like that, which isn't normal - go see your doc. and maybe (like you have) cut your fat consumption down just a bit.

I hope you are feeling better quickly. I have IBS, not as bad as I had it 8 years ago, but I find that Atkins has really helped improve that issue. If I eat bread or pasta I get bloated and too much dairy gives me the runs that will last for days....

hi.. this was happening suddenly after eating the same foods and fats... unless the avacado was bad.. I suspect... my gallbladder... my stool is very fatty and greasy.. and pale... not good. and yes.. I am eating my veggies... but minimally... due to... not being able to get to the store... busy with work... Lia

          Re: Stopping Atkins temporaily

i see your haveing gut problems i used to have horrible gut problems but the atkins diet cured my illnesses i used to think there was no hope for my gut but the atkins diet cured it and more

anyways heres some tips to help your gut and gas and etc along with the diet

          dont eat any
Ketchup, pickles, mayonnaise, relish ,Coffee, Distilled liquor, Black Tea, White and black pepper, vinegar, capers, cinnamon, Cornstarch, Corn syrup, Nutmeg, Vanilla Oranges, tangerines , strawberries, blackberries, Rhubarb , advocado , Alfalfa sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, fermented olives , Brazil, Cashew, Peanut, Pistachios, Poppy Seeds , coconut and coconut-containing products , sugar alcohols

Omega-6 fatty acids as found in soybean, safflower, corn and other grain, nut and seed oils are pro-inflammatory. keep useing butter

also only eat these types of cheese Farmer, Feta, Mozzarella, Goat cheese
so take away chedder cheese and replace it with Feta for your scambled eggs

also dont drink a large ammount of liquid fat at 1 meal such as cod liver oil your gut can only absorb so much liquid fat at a time

also dont miss sleep missing sleep hurts my gut for some reason

also one more note but not that important at all compaird to the other notes if i eat a ton of protein one day like a big roast i can get a tiny little bit of gas its not bad at all its basically nothing but it tells me i ate to much protein that day and that i should have ate more fat and less protein

when i started the diet i still had some gas but it was from my spazmatic intestines cause they were very damaged and upset but during the next 6 months my gut had completely healed itself it was a miracle

its hard to completely see what your stomach/gut can handle and what it can not handle until its fully healed but if its like mine the ultimate sensitive gut then you will most likely need to do everything perfect in order for it to be happy

also Lia i see your a autism advocate here is a good website link that has lots of info and links about autism and a healthy baby
