  • back down the rungs I go....

Maybe I should have entitled this "confessions of a true carbaholic" Since January, I've been slowly climbing the rungs, losing weight steadily and do quite well and then ( insert duh-duh-duh music here please) I noticed that I was no longer quite in control of my portions- mainly that darn vegan trail mix that I love so much...then I noticed that I was craving peanut butter- BIG SCOOPS of sugar-laden peanut butter- mostly grazing in the evenings. I remember reading a post by Mitzi. She mentioned that she needs to stay in the lower rungs and it's easy for her to start over doing higher rung foods after a few days of introducing them- As Oprah would say " A Lightbulb moment"

THEREFORE- I hereby resolve to go back down to rung one and eliminate those foods that cause me to start craving out of my diet. I resolve to drink a minimum of 3 liters of water per day and I resolve to continue exercising and not let the outside world ( kids, work, hubby- the usual) interfere with my wogging each day. Finally, I resolve to no longer use any artificial sweetners and stevia only as a once in a while.

    Happy Monday everyone!

    Thanks for "listening"

We all learn those lessons the hard way. I definitely identify with the peanut butter thing. Welcome back to the bottom of the ladder.

Peanut butter is definitely evil. Clearly one of the things I can not handle either. But it has not stopped me from climbing the ladder. If you want to go back to center yourself to get control back that is good but don't stop trying. Just know that nuts are a problem area and you may have to eliminate those. There are many good seeds to try too. And healthy berries comes after that. Go slow but go

No I'm definitely still trying- this is a WOL for me now- I think what happened is I got a little overconfident and them WHAMMO- the old cravings started again- this time slowly and with cognition as to what I'm adding and what my reactions are- I'm not discouraged- just realistic

One of the Rules of OWL is if your blood sugar symptoms return after introducing any food, drop it from your menu. So try dropping the peanut butter and see how you do. If I had dropped back to the lower rungs when I noticed any food that combines eggplant with tomatoes cause intense cravings, I would never have gotten past Rung 1.
