  • Post Induction Stall and Rungs

(I have read the book and searched here but am still a bit unclear)
If my weight stalls post-induction, do I pause on moving up the rungs til my weight starts to move again, or do I just move slow and steady as long as I am not gaining?

    Thanks!

Almost everyone's weight stalls after induction... If you have a hundred or more pounds to lose you should probably stay on induction for a while, but since you don't, going onto OWL makes good sense... Your stall will break probably about the same time as it would have either way... (when your body is ready)

Well I can tell you what I did - I moved slow and steady. I am a slow loser and stayed on the rungs a while and yes even if something that may have looked like a stall happened when I introduced say berries I did move on thinking it was just one of my pauses. This worked for me.
A lot of my trial on OWL (in addition to CCLL) has been to feel out the foods - to see if I react to them with sugar rushes or cravings.

For myself, I would move to rung one since the foods are basically the same as Induction but you can add more veggies. That way you have a bit more variety but will not be introducing any new foods that may cause a problem. Give yourself a couple of weeks at that rung and see what happens. Hopefully the stall will break in 2-3 weeks and you will start losing again. I am on rung three and am just hitting my first stop in losses now. It has only been a week, but I amd determined to wait it out. I know I am doing everything right so it's not me.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

Thanks everyone! My body is probably wondering what in the world is happening! I went from skipping meals and drinking tons of caffeine with aspartame every day (and no water at all), to eating well and drinking at least 70 oz of water a day and have totally kicked the caffeine and aspartame habit. Now, my ToM is off and my weight is steady for the past 1.5 weeks (up/down within a 1 lb range). So I am in the midst of rung 1 and am thinking that I will move to rung 2 carefully this weekend and see what happens. I will probably stay there for 3-4 weeks or until my weight drops again.

            Thanks again!
