    Re: Gaining Muscle??

but are you losing inches? Your weight will fluctuate quite a lot from day to day. I weigh myself at the local health center every two weeks- I refuse to have a scale in my house- it would drive me crazy. But without knowing what you are eating etc... I have no way of knowing if this is the case. If you feel confident in your program, following atkins and exercising, then your weight is just doing the normal fluctuations that it goes through.

but now i try to limit myself to not weigh more than three times a week...LOL..
i love doing atkins...i think this is the only diet that really works for me and i m confident i can continue eating this way for the rest of my life...i also think that atkins is the healthiest diet ever...so yeah..i m gonna continue doing atkins and exercising..hopefully i'll lose weight...

No, the reason why you've gained 1.5 kg is not because you're gaining muscle -- you cannot gain 1.5 kg of muscle after 5 days of exercising on the treadmill. What happened is that you are probably not used to so much exercise and now your muscles are retaining water to recover. So those 1.5 kg are water weight not fat.

            Re: Gaining Muscle??

Gaining muscle doesn't happen overnight, or even with a few workouts. Unless you are a body builder consuming large amounts of protein and lifting heavy heavy weights, you can expect to gain 1 pound of muscle in about 6 weeks.

As Georgiana stated, its most like water retention Drink lots of water, more than the 64oz minimum required, that always helps with water retention. Good luck!

Other possible reasons for water retention are TOM or eating something salty. You'd have to eat 1000+ calories more than you are burning every day to put on 1.5 kg of fat in 5 days.

As Laurie said, water, water, water.

                  Re: Gaining Muscle??

I am working out every day and losing very slowly too- I haven't remeasured myself yet - but my jeans feel looser.

It is a little frustrating, but I am sure I will appreciate it in the long run.
