  • Reeeeeally needing regularity!!!

    Ok, so since day 3 I have been taking a good Ayurvedic fiber formula - good stuff from my local health food store...plus I have been adding like a T of ground flax to it.

    For 3 days now I have been doing coconut oil 3X a day.

    For 3 days I have been drinking massive amounts of water...70-100 oz's

    Only little kine is happening for me...since day 4 and it's day 10 now! And it's becoming very uncomfortable, ie feeling bloated, well you know the heaviness and weird pains.

    Does anyone have a good remedy to get some regularity???

    I really don't want to take a laxative as I used to be addicted to them in my 20's...even some of the herbal ones are kind-of iffy for me... ie; senna and cascara sagrada.

    Need some advice here!!

    Be careful with so much fiber. Too much of it will have the opposite effect to what you're expecting.

    You can try another fiber supplement (psyllium for example works better for some folks than flax does) or a stool softener. You can also swap the veggies you are eating now for ones with a higher fiber content... if this is possible at all. Cutting down on cheese may help too.

      becareful of coconut some people are extremely senseitive to it try useing butter instead and see if it makes a difference

      and also eat lots of broccoli that should help

        The fiber supplement I normally take daily ("fiberwise") is the bomb diggidy dog and husband and I have enjoyed very long and wide BM's for the past 4 years...but unfortunately its got sugar and 12 grams of carbs in it!! Like 6 net carbs... so
        I went out and got another psyllium based one with zero sugar.

        Thanks for the tip ziggy but I have been using Coconut oil for years, love it, I dont think I have a sensitivity to it...could be wrong thou....
        But you are probably on to something with the cheese. Darn I am lovn' the cheeeeese!!!

        I just drank more flax meal in water, we shall see! I just might have to break down and buy that magnesium cirtrate or something!

          You could try a stool softener - glycerine suppositories have worked for me in the past.

              Miralax works good but if you want to stay away from over the counter stuff and do something more natural, you can try a coffee enema. I used to get my colon cleansed but I'm not that backed up. I am going to do some enema's now that I think of it. I have been taking colace and senna tea. The tea is too strong for everyday but that wipes everything out of me.

              I managed to squeeze a rabbit turd out today, all that effort, I was so disappointed.

                LMAO babymama! I bought some calms magnesium yesterday ... we shall see!

                And I got some more fresh (flax seed and bran)...thats what he says to use in the book I worry about the carbs with these thou. Its kind of a small amount, but still. I want to lose as fast as possible! I am down between 7-8 lbs at day 12 and I am pretty happy about that.
