Hello! I have a quick question. I have stuck to plan and have been moving up the rungs of OWL. I have been losing weight and inches steadily. I bought a new conainer of Ketostix today and, to my horror, they didn't change color. What do you make of that? I just lost 2 pounds last week, and 1 pound since monday. I am just worried that I am losing weight because I no longer drink soda and I eat veggies. I want to lose weight from transitioning to this WOE! I must say, I am confusled.

how much water do you drink daily? Many people who drink large quantities show no color on the sticks (I don't) -- I know I'm in keotsis by my breath and because I am loosing inches and a few pounds along the way.
Is there anything you have eaten in the past few days that might have kicked you out of keotsis? Look at the expiration date on the bottle -- have they expired? I was upset when I bought my bottle, came home and nothing happened....I thought for a few days I was out of keotsis until I read a post about the amount of water I drank. The color doesn't mean anything -- the darker the color the more dehydrated you are so closer to no color is a good thing since it would mean you are hydrating enough...

Also, as you move up the rungs you DO eventually move out of ketosis. If you stop losing then you may want to drop back down. Also if you have added in berries and melon they may add enough sugar to boot you out. I have a problem with portion control with berries and if I go over 1/2 cup I definitely see the change in cravings (although I still lose).

This is the thing... I still have no cravings, and I haven't cheated. This is very strange. I drink about a liter of water a day. Hmmm... I guess I will just keep going and make sure I am still losing by weighing more often. If I stop losing, I will have to reevaluate. Thanks yall.

Dr. Atkins wrote that the stix might not register with carb levels above 40-50 daily. Also, a "ketogenic diet"---a diet where ketones are produced---is defined as a diet of less than 130 grams carb daily.
