  • I'm afraid that i'm not eating enough

I use to eat every 3-4 hours on the clock. I have read in multiple different places that this method keeps the metabolism going. However, a few people on this board said we only need to make sure we eat every 6 hours and to eat only when we are hungry. So I reluctantly took that advice and went forward. I wrote down everything I ate today, eating only when I was hungry or when 6 hours was about to pass since my last consumption of food. This is what I ate:

2 cups of celery with cream cheese in them (about 1/2 to 1 tbsp cream cheese)

    15 shrimp

    1 steak, 2 scrambled eggs

    2 sausages, 1 cup celery

I'm not an expert. So is this enough? I'm fully satisfied off of this, but I don't want to go into starvation mode if it isn't enough.

No it isn't and you need a variety of veggies--preferably dark green and leafy. Celery does not contain many nutrients. I suggest plugging into Fitday.com and tracking your food for awhile. It will track your calories, nutrients and carbs (you just subtract out the fiber for net carbs). You should be covering your basic metabolic rate in calories. Fitday will help you determine what that amount should be.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

So I should force myself to eat when I'm not hungry?

No. Add some dressing to that cup of celery. I'm not sure how you cook the shrimp or any of the other foods for that matter... but using fat in cooking will increase your calories/fat intake without you having to eat a lot of food.

Varying your vegetables and cooking some with butter or some other form of fat will help too. You might also consider adding some olives or 1/2 avocado to your menus.
