Hey, all I admit that what a said a couple of days ago were uncalled for and I apologize to you all. I didn’t mean to leave things this way Mitzimarie, I saw your thread, no need to worry I’m not a spamer I wouldn’t even know how to do that, so I’m sorry for the harsh words. By the way the only spam I know of is the one that comes out of a can, lol.
SunnySmile501, you were giving me some good information, but at times it seemed as if you were criticizing me with every spelling mistake I was making. I had people do that to me my whole life and was even told by my high school councilor I’d never attend college, and now I doing ten years after high school. Anyway, I’m sorry I didn’t mean hurt you. I hope you know that I am sincere.
As for my class, I have a B average in my class going into this paper and my professor has not been any help because she made this class on online course. I really needed her input before I started the project but she lives in Wise and prefers not to give input until a project is graded. I know she never gives input because I’ve emailed her on several occasions asking if I am on the right track and she never replies.
Also, I’m just stressed out about everything coming to an end at school. As for the rest of my life outside of school. New calf’s are being born just about every day here. Bad for the hubby, because we’ve had all bulls so he’s had to band a lot this year and we not going to get much for them when we sell next year because the market here wants more breeders than bulls. Also, the calves are also breaking the fence so we’ve had to chase them back, during the day while hubby is at work, we just need to fix the fence or electric fence the whole area they are escaping from.
My papers on Sam Walton and John D. Rockefeller are done, finished my hypothetical proposal to start a Green House Business on Thursday, so this is the last paper till the summer semester beings. Writing the paper as we speak, the New England Journal of Medicine endorses your diet, while on the other had the American Journal of Medicine isn’t a very big fan of it saying it lacks nutritional value of course they are never a fan of anything they associate as the word "diet" and I know it’s a lifestyle change. Just for my own curiosity, Can you eat potatoes, bread, or pasta? I see in my grocery that they make low-carb pasta and Atkins makes bread but can you eat any whole grains because the Diebetes book I have describing the diet say you may or may not be able to add whole grains? Is the whole grain thing for the diabetics only? But what about potatoes? I personally grow them in my garden and love to eat them (And yes, people, I spell checked this message). I’ll be back to the board on Wednesday after the of school craziness is over and I’ll let you know my grade when she grades the paper.

Yes. You can eat potatoes, bread and pasta once you reach the appropriate OWL Rung -- potatoes are allowed in OWL Rung 8, while grains are allowed in OWL Rung 9. However, if you have an intolerance to some grains (as many people do, even if they are not aware of it), then of course you will not add them back into your diet.

      Hi Researchstudent,

I hope the rest of your research for this paper goes well and that the end product is a successful one for you and reflects this way of eating very accurately.

I am sorry to hear you're having a challenge with the new calves being born. I hope that many of your challenges turn around in a short period of time.

With regards to your apology, I have read the other thread that was locked and I see that a few people reacted in an unbecoming manner. I appreciate you coming forth recognizing that you said some things that were inappropriate and apologized. I hope others that were out of line re-evaluate their reactions/responses and do the same.

I joined this forum last summer and find it an incredible resource and have met some wonderful people. I have also made some pretty special friendships here. This is an amazing forum and I look at us all as a very large, extended family and it saddens me when individuals start clashing with one another because of their emotions in the moment instead of dealing with the situation and person logically and in a caring way.

We all make mistakes and we all say things we regret after it’s too late to take them back…if we could sit back and ask more questions to gain clarification instead of reacting on emotions I believe there would be less arguments and misunderstandings. Misunderstanding generally happen due to a lack of information for both parties that are engaging one another.

For anyone who is reading this, I say these things out of true care and concern for everyone here.

As I have said time upon time here, we’re all in this together and hopefully we can all learn valuable lessons in unfortunate misunderstanding such as Researchstudent’s last post and come together and act and communicate in a way that is much more caring towards one another and show one another patience, kindness and respect.

All the best to you Researchstudent and everyone else here.

          ResearchStudent,

Congratulations on going back to school. I can barely imagine what it would be like to go back to school, try to run a farm and raise children! Stick with it, the harder you work for your diploma, the more you'll appreciate it. I hope that you learned something about Atkins as well as technical writing and that your paper raises awareness about the Atkins lifestyle.

          Best wishes,
          Julie

researchstudent, your apology is special and gives a glimpse of a beautiful character.

I'm a country girl, too, although I've never raised livestock. I have two dear friends... one raises goats and makes her own cheeses; another also has goats and a few cattle and her children have won tons of 4-H awards.

It's not an easy life, but is a very rewarding one.

The best of luck to you in school and in all your endeavors.
