  • Yay! Little bit of progress!

Patience pays off. I've been hovering around 196.8 and 199.8.. fluctuating back and forward for 2 1/2 weeks. In the last 4 days I finally got a steady 196.8. (Yes, I weigh myself everyday--- it's horrible, I know)..
and for the first time, I got a 195.8 on the scale this morning!
Little victory for me! It's nice seeing a number I haven't seen yet so far =D

Also, my wedding ring is feeling loser on my finger, not to mention in another 5lbs I will need a new pair of pants. My size 17s are nice and loose on me so far.

I love starting my day like this! Just more motivation not to cheat and to keep on track. Patience really is the key...

I also fluctuated at that point! I am getting a steady 195 also.
Good for you! Keep up the good work!

Awesome! I realized this morning that it's going to be just a few weeks before these jeans that used to be tight are no longer wearable. Don't you just love that feeling?

I weigh myself every morning.Never understood why anyone would suggest otherwise. When I was eating anything and very obese I wouldn't dare step on a scale. Now I love to.Fluctuations are normal.Sometimes I weigh 6 lbs more in the evening than I do in early morning. That is a lot of urine, lol.

Like you I also get on the scales every day. I find it interesting to see the daily ups and downs and have learned not to panic if I don't see the movement I hope for.

But I do understand why some people are advised not to

We see many people posting here that they have been freaked out by the (normal) gains and fluctuations and start to doubt their choice to follow the Atkins way of eating.

They see a few pounds gain and at once decide that as they are not seeing daily losses they might as well give in to any cravings they have and eat pizza/oreos/sugary cakes and cookies etc.

To people who are affected by the scales this way I will always suggest they stop looking every day for a loss and weigh less often in the hopes that weighing weekly gives them the boost of seeing a few pounds vanish gradually.

YAY! I also fluctuate, I lose a few pounds, then I gain, then I lose....and if I didn't weigh so often, it might freak me out to see a gain, but that's how my body is.

Congrats! That is an awesome feeling! I also weigh every day (it is good for me and keeps me focused and motivated). My weight has not changed more than 1 pound up/down for the past 2 weeks and yesterday it was .2 lbs lower than it had been so I think I am starting to move again. It is an awesome feeling! Good luck on getting those new jeans soon!
