      Re: Kathi22

First of all, the prenatal vitamin contains "illegal" inactive ingredients like modified corn starch, dextran, surcrose, polydextrose, all of which are forms of sugar.

Second, if you compare the prenatal vitamin to the multivitamin suggested in the book, you will see there are many vitamins and minerals missing from or simply found in significantly smaller quantities in the prenatal.

Third, the prenatal contains iron. Since on Atkins most of us get enough iron from the foods we are eating, a vitamin supplement with no iron is recommended.

Well, the book says you need more vitamins than you are taking now, both in terms of number and RDA %. If I were you, I'd switch the prenatal vitamin for a regular multivitamin without iron, sugar coating or corn starch.

Ziggy - do you use fitday.com or one of the other online food trackign websites?

If so you should be able to see what amounts of vitamins and minerals your daily menus are giving you in relation to the recommended daily amounts and add extra supplements if needed.

I have added my vitamin pills etc as custom foods using the numbers on the packets as well, so I can see what effect these are having on my total RDA numbers.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

These are vitamins prescribed from my doctor, I suppose I need to talk with my Dr. about this before I stop taking them. It's just a vitamin and I could stop taking them if I want but I would prefer to take the info you gave me to my Dr. and then get her opinion. I certainly have not had a problem losing weight, but my concenr is the iron. I don't want too much!

            Thanks so much.

thanks Elizellen i never used any food tracking websites this is my first time and wow i must say fitday.com is very helpful

one thing i was a little short on vitamin E cause i stoped eating margarine cause of the unhealthy omega-6 polyunsaturated vegetable oils

but also i found out i was eating to much vitamin A and D cause of the cod liver oil i had no idea you could overdose on vitamins like that and i also found out overdoseing on vitamins can be very dangerous

so im changeing my diet to only 1-2 tsp of cod liver oil and then just normal fish oil and also slightly changeing my diet alittle more adding some vitamins or food

By overdosing, do you mean eating more than the UL for that vitamin? That's pretty hard to do...
