  • Retaining fluid

About a year ago I suddenly gained about 12 lbs in the space of a week. It scared me so I went to my doctor. It turned out that it was just fluid due to hot weather. Well, it's warming up here and I'm starting that same old thing again. I guess it's what Dr. Atkins called idiopathic edema....I think that's what he said in the book. Any how I've had to take a Lasix this morning and I'm disappointed. But,I know it's only temporary and I'll be ok by tomorrow or the next day. I hate taking that stuff but ya gotta do what ya gotta do I guess.

There is some great info here
Reasons to drink water for weight loss

If we dont get enough water our bodies retain it as a survival method. Try and dring at least 8, 8oz glasses a day.
I hope it improves soon. Take care.x

      Hello Mrschesterdogg,
As you said, it is temporary and it will pass. Better to take the meds then gain a bunch of unwanted water bloat and weight! Keep with the positive.

Thanks for the encouragement. I made my fair share of trips to the ladies room today at work. I've lost two lbs of the water so far which is good. I guess those trips to the ladies room are just a little exercise huh? lol
