  • Is it true.......

I watch the Biggest Looser show faithfully every Tuesday. One of the Trainers said, "You cannot lose inches with out loosing weight." Is this TRUE????

I was always told that you could lose inches and the scale my not show any changes in your weight.

Please reply, I need to know.
    Thanx

    Re: Is it true.......

Tell that to the people who don't lose weight for a week or two but their measurements shrink.

People in the media always try too hard to come off like the ultimate experts by making ridiculous pronouncements with absolute certainty.

Not true. I love that show, but some of the stuff they say on there makes me cringe.

If you are building muscle, you might gain weight, but you're going to end up smaller. A few years ago one of the women I used to see at the gym was training really hard and doing 100s of lunges a day...her legs were looking amazing, so I decided to try it myself. I measured my thighs and for about 2 months I was doing at least 250 lunges a day 5 days a week....and I lost 1.5 inches off each thigh, but my weight did not change.

Even now, I'm working out 5-6 days a week and every week I measure and I am shrinking...but the scale doesn't move alot of the time! Unless its moving upwards!

when you lose inches youre losing fat. just because the scale doesnt match doesnt mean you arent losing fat. it may be water or muscle etc, but they dont always come off the same rate as the other.
