  • Just curious...how many Ex-WW'rs

are there out here in ADBB land?

How many of us out here have done Weight Watchers before - and are you a liftime member? Did you gain ALL back, a little back?

How many of us are there out there that know the pain of points?

    Just really curious.

I know i've posted before that I am technically a lifetime member - went to meetings (for an extended period) twice. lost 40 - gained 20, lost 40 again for a total of 60...

    what about all of u?

The first time I did Weight Watchers I was about 5 years old. Did it again a few times, but swore off it due to starvation and poor results. No idea how much I lost & gained over the years with any specific diet...suffice to say, a lot.

      *raises hand*

Not a lifetime member because I couldn't stick with it long enough to get to goal. Almost made it to goal back in 1995 but then found out I was pregnant! I don't do well being hungry all the time

I don't think I have enough fingers and toes to count how many times I've been on and off of it...starting at 12 years old. Back then, you had to do "exchanges", 3-5 veggie exchanges, 2 fats, 4 proteins, etc...I so resented it as a teenager. I've never once made it to lifetime...I've never even once made it half-way to goal. It's not an easy plan to live with because I'm always wanting to much on something...and those hunred calorie packs are just so easy to grab! One of the times, after my first time success on atkins, I tried doing it incorporating some Atkins principles...i.e., staying low carb, not eating low fat cheeses...but for some reason it was just easier to buy the frozen meals and have cereal for breakfast and I always slid back into that slump.

It's a good program...if you can live with it. I couldn't live with it though...I don't like being hungry and low energy.

And I really hate low fat cheese!

          Started: 3/2/09

          ~280~270~260~250~240~230~220~210~200~190

          Realistic Final Goal: 190
          Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

I did it years ago.Got skinny and lost quite a bit of muscle mass. Thought I was going to starve eating naked baked potatoes.

I'm a Lifetime Member. I lost about 35 pounds back in 1986 and stayed at my goal for about six minutes! Of course, I was nursing a baby at the time, too. That probably helped me lose the weight. I learned nothing about eating. I gained it all back plus a lot more. I went back and tried again a few times, but I just couldn't get the magic back.

Tried twice and was starving and sick of thinking about counting my food exchanges/points/whatever it is now all day. I love the fact that I know what I can and can't have without overthinking every morsel.

I did WW way back in 1980 and lost about 45 lbs. Decided to try it again in the late 80's and didn't lose much at all that time around. I have a cousin who's been doing it with quite a bit of success. About 3 years ago she lost 128 lbs! She's recently been diagnosed with diabetes and when I told her that I had given up ALL starchy carbs her only reply was "All of them?" I said yep all of them, my body just can't handle them. Plus my blood sugars are way better. Her reply was "Hmm."

I am also a lifetime member from way back and still am an online member. About 5 years back I had went down to 116 lbs. on WW, then gained some, then lost, and gained once again to 152. I think it is a good program for the most part for those who are bullheaded like I am. When I set my mind to do something, I do it. I actually have never had a problem loosing on WW, but whenever I go through anything major, I end up slipping. In my case, my sister-in-law passed away a few months back and I ate all of the available food and got bored with the program. I am currently down only 2 lbs. on Atkins after 3 weeks, but feel like it is a good healthy program, and I also am doing it because of my hubby being diabetic and deciding this is one he can stick with, so I will trudge on and continue since it has helped level his blood sugars and we can do it together.
