  • Afraid I'm Not Going to See Results

    Hi All,

I'm at the end of day 2 of the Induction and I'm convinced i'm not going to lose any weight or see any results. I have done really well with my diet as day 2 closes, but i'm convinced that i'm just eating fatty meat and it's going straight to my problem areas!! Is this normal??

I think part of it stems from the fact that I keep reading all of these inspiring stories of people losing hundreds of pounds. I'm afraid that because I only have 15 to lose at most, my body won't let go of the weight. It's day 2 and I feel very bloated and full : (

Can someone give me a story that relates more to me? I'm 5'2", I currently weigh 120lbs. I am used to being 110lb and have been 105lb for a time as well (that was my happy, confident weight). These weights seem low but for my height, they are actually a perfectly healthy BMI.

I don't know why I'm so afraid!! I think it's a fear of failure, but everyone says they lose weight on this diet. Need some motivation!!

Re: Afraid I'm Not Going to See Results

Just try it for two weeks and have a little optimism!

We started with similar stats, even though I'm taller. I started 3/5/09, 5'7" 148 lbs. After two weeks I think I was down about 6 pounds, and almost 2 months later I'm down 11 pounds to 137. I went down to 136 last week but I rebounded a bit. It happens - could be water, no big deal. I'm pretty liberal with my carbs and eat 35-45 a day. Sometimes I go up to 60 if I'm having a big veggie day. If I were racing I'd lower my carbs, but there's no hurry.

Besides the weight loss, the food is great! I love how I feel when my body is fueled with whole, real foods, and my energy has increased a lot. I don't have a whole lot of appetite suppression because my carbs are fairly high, but hunger comes on gradually and gently instead of the panicky falling off a cliff feeling I'd get when I had a high carb diet.

Seriously, just suspend disbelief for a while and let go of the food pyramid we've been taught for so long. Humans did NOT evolve eating processed wheat. Meat and veg is what we thrive on!

Because you don't have "hundreds of pounds" like you said you will not see huge results from the onset - but if you make the decision to believe in the plan, follow it to the letter and stick with it you will loose the weight you wish to.

You need to read the book... then you won't think of eating fat as something that's going to make you fat...

today for fats, i ate 3 whole eggs fried in oil. I made sure to eat the fats from my porkchop and chicken that were my proteins today. I had a cup of squash cooked in oil and butter. i had a homemade sauce made of butter, heavy cream and 1oz of cheese. i'll probably have 1 tbsp of coconut oil too. I've eaten this way every single day for the last 50 days, and i'm 17.4lbs lighter than i was 50 days ago. does that sound like fat makes you fat?

Geez, it's only been 2 days. And plus you don't have much weight to lose. Wait 2 weeks or probably a month and see if you lost anything. Make sure you're counting your carbs. You seriously have NOTHING to lose and it's not worth just giving up because of what a couple of days "makes" you feel. It's normal.

Re: Afraid I'm Not Going to See Results

you are not just eating "fatty meats" or at least shouldn't be. reread and refresh your memory on the induction list of foods. remember that most of your net carbs should be coming from those veggie lists.

and for what's it's worth. for you height, i don't think you have to lose any weight at all.
