  • Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi guys! When I first started Atkins and read the book, everyone said that as soon as they cut down the carbs, they felt like different people--more energy, better mood, better sleep, etc. Although I was loosing weight, I did not feel much better--especially in the energy department. Just this week, though, now that I've lost almost 30lbs, I'm feeling those changes. I've been so energetic and in such a great mood that I've literally been skipping around, singing/whistling, etc. I dunno, it may be attributable to Spring. I guess my question is: Has anyone else experienced a delayed improvement in these areas as I have? Could this be more common in those who need to loose more weight? I am just curious and think it will bring about an interesting discussion!

I didn't feel energetic in a "hey I can climb a mountain right now" way. But I did feel I could last longer when I walked and I didn't get as winded as quickly.

It took almost a month for me to start feeling really good consistently. I'd have some days when I felt fantastic. There were some days that I could barely move. A couple of times I seriously wondered if I would have to go off Atkins, it was so bad.

So I think some of us are just slowpokes at adjusting to the new metabolism.

Re: Has anyone else experienced this?

i had horrible illnesses from my high carb diet i had a horribly destroyed gut and also i think i had horrible PH levels and maybe other things too and i thought there was no hope for me and thought i may die with in a few years

anyways when i started the diet this is what i remmber feeling like although i dont remmber exactly

first week 50% energy? felt dizzy and odd but thats cause the start is the hardest part of the diet cause your metabolism needs to change to a fat burning one

week 2-3 70% energy and my gut started to heal

2 months 100% normal energy? gut and other illnesses healing

3-4 months 130% energy? gut and other illnesses healing

6 months 200% energy? gut and other illnesses fully healed

i think most people would notice faster energy gains than me the reason i took 6 months was cause my gut was previously destroyed from a high carb diet and needed time to heal and once it was healed i felt alot better
