  • Day 5 Induction- When can I expect to see some loss?

    Hey all!

It's been 5 days since I started Atkins. I'm really excited about this program and when I entered Ketosis at Day 3, I jumped for joy and screamed in my bathroom!

Now I don't want to sound impatient or like a total newbie, but when can I start to expect to see some lossage? I can't guage whether my clothes fit differently just yet, nor can I really see any difference on the scales. I am at my parents' house this weekend and I don't trust the scale consistency when compared to the one at my apartment (it says I lost 2lbs, but will confirm this on my own scale later this week).

I guess this question is aimed more for the more tenured Atkin's Members. I'm going to start exercising, so hopefully that will help, and as per another Atkins member, the sugar free jello that I had been snacking on at night may stall my loss. So i'm cutting that out and may just chew on some ice bits instaed, when I eat just for the sake of having something in my mouth!

Thanks all and looking forward to hearing from you!!

Hi NY glad you found us. Could you post a daily menu for us as from your description it's difficult to tell you what is going on. Have you lost 2 pounds already? If so, your pretty much right on track.

      Hey Dessserthorn,

I have been blogging my daily menus-- they should be listed under my profile. I'll have to confirm whether I truly lost 2 pounds or not when I get back to the city. I was just wondering how long it takes to lose, say, 10 pounds for the average person. Would it be the 2 week-long induction will take off 10 pounds?

According to the chart in DANDR
A woman with less than 20 pounds to lose
who has high resistance to weightloss will probably lose 2 pounds
one with average resistance to weightloss will lose 4 pounds
one with low resistance to weightloss will lose 6 pounds
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Did you incorporate those veggies, they are a must on this plan?
Make sure you eat three meals a day, at least every 6 hours.
Congratulations on getting out of that bakery smelling deli without a fist full of donuts. LOL
