    Jowls?

For those out there who have lost, does your face firm up? I find myself with sagging cheeks, is it age or being over-weight?

Started this diet on Sun 4/26/09

50 lbs gone on Sun 9/27/09

Well its been over a year now and I am currently on maintenance and still trying to adjust to the "new" ME. No major struggles to report, just livin' day to day.

    Re: Jowls?

When I lost the weight, most people noticed it in my face first. I also saw this great old video of Jack LaLanne where he does all these facial movements/exercises to tighten up the muscles in the face. If you search at youtube.com you can find them... here's one link... YouTube - Jack Lalanne - Face Workout 1 of 30

Unless you are extremely young, when you lose, it takes a while to firm back up. When you empty out the fat cells, it's like partially deflating a balloon--it won't be as tight for a while. The good news is that it should firm and tighten back up. Just keep drinking extra water and exercising your whole body.

I started out at nearly 300 pounds and had a lot of "face" and chins. I was 55 years old at the time. Here are some pictures to show how my sagging and loose skin tightened back up.

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

"Some men give up their designs when they have almost reached the goal; While others, on the contrary, obtain a victory by exerting, at the last moment, more vigorous efforts than ever before."

wow sunny there may be hope for me yet, nice photos you have a great smile

Actually I am 42 unfortunately the sagging came with the weight gain -not the loss. I think its because I'm old and fat !!!(just for chuckles, not putting myself down) I was just hoping that someone out there could give me some hope. You had a lovely before and after face.

The face will come back -- our lovely Sunny is proof positive....and she is right, you need more water daily to help your body repair itself inside and out....

Shelly, I'm thinking you may never have a "perky" chest area...not without some nip/tuck but at least you'll have less fat hanging from just below your shoulders! Unlike men, we are lucky there, a good fitting bra and no one knows!!

Yes Carol I agree, they were going downhill before I even gained all the weight!

Hey, if I could afford it I certainly would do a little nipping and tucking in that area!
