The last two weeks or so I have been having horrible hot flashes. I had surgical menopause 15 years ago so it isn't that. I don't remember doing this my first time around. Any ideas?

i tend to feel hot the day/night before i lose on the scale. your metabolism is up too so that might also make you feel hot. make sure you're drinking a lot of water!
I am drinking 2 64 oz bubba kegs of water a day. I hope it is my metabolism. I have also started taking vitamins b complex, chromium, omega 3*6*9. I still won't weigh until June 1 so I won't know if i am about to lose. Darn!

estrogen is stored in fat... when we lose fat that estrogen is released into our blood stream... so you could be having bonafide hot flashes.
I had a hysterectomy at age 42 and did hormone replacement therapy for a couple of years until the symptoms went away... Now being on Atkins, with the release of hormones from my fat, the symptoms (hot flashes, sore breasts) have returned...
I'm just going to go with the flow

I used to have severe hot flashes before I went on Atkins and I was only 27 years old at the time! Once I went on Atkins, the hot flashes stopped. I always thought it was too much salt intake but now I believe it was from massive sugar fluctuations I was having from my poor diet!!!
