Is that your breakfast? You do not have to have numbers work out for every meal. You just look at them at the end of the day. And I would not worry too much about the numbers. If it is a little bit off here or there. It is still fine.

A bit little for two meals maybe. Have a snack if you get hungry. It will probably work out by supper. You need to eat some more proteins. Meat, fish? What are your plans?

I was thinking 1 can chicken (it is just like tuna) with some celery chopped up in it and 1 tbs of mayo and maybe another egg (pre cooked) mixed in that then put in the microwave..... It actually tastes really good, but would it be okay for my percentages.

Probably would be just fine. But you probably need to eat a little more than that.

You can have tuna, chicken or some other meat. Eat some vegetables with it and add some dressing to the veggies or some other form of fat to keep you full between meals.

But I wouldn't worry so much about the fat percentage. What worries me is that your only vegetable is lettuce. You see, 2 cups of lettuce do not have a lot of vitamins/minerals and fiber. It is excellent to lose weight if you need to, but you have to do it in a healthy way, so that you don't get sick by the time you get to your goal. The health problems poor nutrition can cause you are not like a simple flu -- they can have a negative impact on your health and metabolism for the rest of your life! So please take this seriously and don't risk your health.

Eat more nutritious vegetables like peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, pumpkin... Salad vegetables do not mean exclusively lettuce. There are 21 vegetables on the "Salad Vegetables" list, so you have plenty to choose from.

Also, do not forget you should be getting most of your carbohydrates from vegetables. Two cups of lettuce have about 2 net carbs. You had 9.5 in total and only 2 of these came from vegetables. So eat more vegetables -- they'll help you lose weight and stay healthy.

You said you started Atkins on April 5th. So your 14-days of Induction ended on April 19th. Instead of doing extended Induction, it would be better for you to move to OWL. Moving to OWL does not mean that you will stop losing weight or that your weight loss will slow down. If you averaged, let's say, 3 lbs per week during Induction, you might lose only 2.5 lbs per week in OWL, but remember that a big part of the weight you've lost in the first two weeks was just water weight. So as you move to OWL, you will continue to lose fat (!), but you will also give your body the vitamins, minerals and fiber it needs for growth and good overall health.

Why did you decide to do extended Induction instead of moving to OWL? Is it just that you are scared eating more carbs will slow/stop your weight loss? Or is there also another reason for it?

The first rungs of OWL have more vegetables (vitamins, fiber), yogurt, milk, fresh cheeses (calcium), nuts (mono- and polyunsaturated fats, antioxidants, fiber), berries (antioxidants, vitamins, fiber)... Did you ever hear of anyone who got fat by eating vegetables, plain yogurt, an ounce of nuts or berries? I doubt.

I see you have posted your menu. That is not a healthy menu. Not even for an adult, let alone for someone your age! You should be eating more -- more vegetables, more protein, more food in general. Instead of cutting your calories in such an extreme way, better go out and exercise. Riding your bike, going for a brisk walk, playing a sport or doing any other physical activity will burn calories, will keep you healthy and will help you look fantastic in a swimsuit.

                    Okay. Summary:
                    • more vegetables
                    • more food in general
                    • OWL won't stop your weight loss -- you'll lose weight and get the nutrients you need for growth and good health
                    • drastically reducing your calories is not Atkins -- better exercise more

That's it from me. I hope I'll see you in the OWL forum soon.

                      Re: Percent Problems! UGhhhhhhh!

Thanks! I don't mean to not eat enough calories, but on this diet, I don't really know of many foods with a lot of calories. I do exercise everyday. I walk 1 hr+, 50 push ups, 80 sit ups, 100 jumping jacks, 160 squats, and then whatever I have to do in gym at school (80min every 4 days). If you have any suggestions to what foods have calories please post them. Also, i'll try sume pumpkin tonight (is canned okay?) and I am not afraid of going on owl, I had a bunch of mess ups on induction, so I had an on and off restart thing going on. I just entered extended induction today and I am going to do it just until sunday, then maybe I'll go to OWL. Thank you for helping, Georgiana!

Okay. Then if you are exercising so much, you should definitely be eating more. Right now you are probably burning more calories exclusively through exercise than you are taking in from food.

If you have any suggestions to what foods have calories please post them.
Fat is dense in calories -- carbs and protein have only 4 calories per gram, while fat has 9 calories/gram. Instead of having one egg for breakfast and one for lunch, you could have two eggs for breakfast. Or a slice of quiche. Then have some fish (grilled, baked, however you like it), chicken or red meat for lunch, with a side of vegetables. Add full fat dressing or a sauce to this. Then have something similar for dinner.

It's very difficult to make suggestions since it's probably not you the one cooking. What does your family usually eat in a day?

Also, i'll try sume pumpkin tonight (is canned okay?)
Yep, canned pumpkin is okay. Just check that it's canned pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling or something with added sugar. Add some softened cream cheese to the pumpkin, a little Splenda and cinnamon, and heat everything in the microwave.

Actually, I am the one cooking (It is a passion) and any recipies are usually good. I think I'm going shopping tonight (I pay for my food that my mom doesn't usually buy)My mom and I sometimes eat the same thing, and my brothers just eat junk food (one of them just offered the other an icecream sandwich.....right infront on me, and they haven't eaten dinner yet). And my dad is in Georgia right now, so god knows what he eats...lol.
