i'm on day 8, and i was so weak this morning i could barely stand without feeling like i'm going to pass out. i have NO energy whatsoever, I constantly have felt drained, and I feel like my body is purging every last ounce of sustanance I put into it. Is this normal for the "introduction flu"?

Re: OMG, did anyone else feel this horrible??
if you truely are burning twice as much as your takeing in then you gotta eat more
eat chicken skin and less of the chicken meat for now
eat eggs
eat butter
you gotta eat alot of fat so it encourages your body to switch to a fat burning metabolism
try and aim for 65% fat 30% protein 5% carbs
you must eat more calories than you burn
but really just eat lots of fat for now you dont really need to worry about calories if you burn to many you will get hungry and eat more

Re: OMG, did anyone else feel this horrible??
Please post a menu. Lots of folks think they are following this plan correctly and feel lousy. Sometimes a simple correction in the diet can turn things around. So please post a sample day's food so we can have a look.

Re: OMG, did anyone else feel this horrible??
well, i woke up this morning and i feel great!!!!
i don't really know, my morning kinda consists of a couple eggs and a couple pieces of bacon, for lunch i do kinda like a cup of salad with some chicken or something, but no dressing, and then like, for dinner a steak with some asparagus , you know. kinda something like that.
but yea, i woke up and i actually don't want to crawl back into bed and sleep another 20 years!!

Great to hear that you are feeling a bit better and I hope this is the beginning of you getting more energy
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Why are you skipping the dressing on you salad? Atkins is a high fat diet - I don't think you are getting enough.Julie__________________F/37/5'2"__________________Start April 15, 2009
