  • Does too much water hinder Ketosis?

I read somewhere earlier a comment about an excess of 100 oz of water hinders Ketosis, and therefore you won't see results on the Keto-stix.

Does anyone have any more information, or is this just rumor?

If true, is the result simply a dilution of your urine enough that Keto-stix are useless at that level of water consumption, yet your Ketosis and weight loss are still in balance? Or ... is too much water a bad thing?

    thanks
    What I do:

At 320, switch to cycling on my Trek 500

Short answer, no. Go back to that thread and read Slapshot's reply there. He explained what exactly happens.

No worries John. I knew what she meant, so I wanted to clarify right away, especially since some of us live(d) and die(d) by the ketostix. I don't use them often because I eat so far below my threshhold that I know I'm in ketosis without checking. As I progress up the OWL latter and try to find my CCLL (Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing) and CCLM (Critical Carbohydrate Level for Maintenance), I'll start using them again.

          Congrats on your start!
