  • Cain't stay focus....

I was doing so well my first week. Now I felt off the wagon, now it's hard for me to get back on. I'm trying so hard to stay focus but can't I lost 10lbs my first week none on my 2nd and 3rd week I lost focus on what I was working so hard for and now I have to start all over went grocery shopping yesterday did not buy any junk food so I hope to stay on track and do well this time. I'm doing the 2 week introductions phase all over, I'm scared to get on the scale I hope not to gain the whole 10lbs back. Someone please help me I don't have much support.

By the way my husband bought me a icecream cake for Mother's Day. I was so mad.

No one can do this for you. You have to ask yourself what you want more--to be thinner and healthier or the instant gratification and later loathing that goes with that piece of cake. It is that simple. Shame on your hubbie for bringing home a cake, but truly, if you were ready to do this lifestyle, it probably wouldn't have bothered you. before starting again, you need to really give this some thought and make sure you are ready to make a real commitment.

You need to have a sit down talk with Hubby about being supportive and help him understand what types of foods you can have and what way he can best show his devotion by complying with the rules of your diet...

            Re: Cain't stay focus....

I'm having a problem staying focused too. DH is actually doing the diet with it. It seems that when he falls off track, I end up feeling bad for sticking to the diet. So I end up cheating along with him. Perfect example was last night. I did well up until dinner. I found out that DH cheated during the day because he was depressed about not losing any weight since the first two weeks. So when we went out for dinner, I ended up cheating too. After dinner, I felt really bad and then decided to workout.

After I finished my workout, I had a talk with DH about what's been going on and how I feel. So we're going to try to stay on task. We bought a diet journal and we're going to start planning our meals each week. Hopefully, we can stick to it.

Caramella...just because your DH cheats, doesn't mean you have to cheat as well. Let him feel guilty on his own as he watches you stick to it. Mine is notorious for tempting me but is awestruck at how it's not working on Atkins. You are the only person responsible for your success or failure...just as he's responsible for his own. Next time he cheats, leave him to deal with the consequences and keep on going.

                  Re: Cain't stay focus....

One of the things that works for me is to make sure that I'm full. If I get too hungry, all bets are off, so I have to know what I'm eating and when.

My DH cheats on this WOE, too, but that's his problem. I'm only responsible for myself and, if I want to lose weight, I have to do what's right for me. Now, he eats better when he's with me because I motivate him not to cheat. So, you can either let him drag you down, or you can set a good example and eventually he'll come up to your level.

My husband has no weight problem he can eat icecream everynight before he goes to bed and not gain any weight. His job keeps him moving, sometimes he has no time for lunch, so whatever he eats it will burn right off.
