  • I'm beginning to wonder If I'm doing Atkins correctly???

    Why am I wondering this? Well - everywhere you look that talks about diet and exercise - blasts Atkins as being "eggs, meat, cheese - no carbs - no vegees - no fruits..."

    so i'm beginning to wonder cuz apparantly I'm doing it wrong if I'm enjoying vegetables, cottage cheese, nuts & berries...

    anyone else?













    just an afterthought - since the 'net can't tell my tone of voice - i'm being VERY sarcastic here.

            I think I'll just have a bacon grease shake, put one of those little cocktail umbrellas in it and drink it with a straw. Yum-yum.

              You are doing it wrong if you don't eat a pound of bacon a day...didn't you get the memo?

              Realistic Final Goal: 190
              Stretch Goal: 140


              Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

                  LOL, I take my food to work everyday and get no shortage of comments on how healthy I eat. Yogurt, big salads, snap peas for snacks, piles of veggies, etc. I don't talk about being on a diet and I'm sure they'd be shocked to hear the "A" word!

                    Not to mention the change in your basic health! I've taken darvocet and ibuprofen for years for a bothersome back. Give up sugar, and foods that create sugar in the body, and guess what??!! The inflammation leaves your body and the pain goes with it.

                    Then, there's the blood pressure meds - doc took me off those yesterday!

                    My girlfriend asked me if I told the doc that I was on "that Atkins diet". I told her, sure, and he was so upset he told me I'd better get off that diet and stay on the BP meds! NOT!!

                    Next to go, the cholesterol meds!

                      Keriann -- I thought I would let you see what I had to eat today -- it's PURE Atkins (HA!)

                      Breakfast:
                      1 lb bacon
                      1 lb steak
                      1/2 lb cheese

                      Lunch:
                      1 lb roast beef
                      3/4 lb cheese
                      1/3 c plain lettuce

                      Dinner:
                      2 lb hamburger
                      1 lb sausage
                      1 lb ribs

                      I think I did something wrong today -- I ate lettuce, that's not allowed

                      ROFLMAO!!!!!! People are SOOOOOO stupid!

                        Where are your snacks? You know you will lose more weight if you suck on a half-cup of lard between meals. I see no lard all day long--you can't be doing the real Atkins!
