    Hello every one!! Wow sounds like we are all getting tired of salads these days. Well I went and made another batch of Mock potato salad up so that I would not be to tempted by my hubby's real potato..Oh how I love potato..Big breath here..Well I have been really good since that bad mishap at the Chinese restaurant last Friday.I have lost those pounds I put on but nothing more yet. Slow but sure wins the race thought right??

    Jane like you I am finding that I like moving up to the OWL.I never did it the last time i tried Atkins and that could be why I failed that time. I feel like I am getting somewhere this time.

    focus83 Happy Birthday to you and just remember that one day of off plan can create havoc for us. I have a big celebration coming up in the Second week of September and i am already trying to figure out how to deal with the cake issue. My plan is to make the cheesecake we can have and also to make up some great salads that I can pig out on first and a large steak so I am to full to contemplate eating anything else..
    OK now we can do this focus83..We don't want all the people who put this diet down to say "see you can't do it without cake and icecream" we have to prove we can

    my favorite desser right now is 2oz of cream cheese,1 tablespoon of whipping cream and 1 tablespoon of Davinci peppermint paddy syrup. I put it into my small chopper/processor and blend for a couple of minutes..mmm is it every good. Hey I bet I could freeze that and it would make a nice ice cream on a stick..like a popsicle..

    well that is it for today. off to bed.

    ps my blood glucose reading have been really good for the last 3 days..looks like I have finally got my self back in the healthy zone..

      Hi Buddies! Hope you are all having a good day today.

      I took my son to a concert last night (a band called Sick Puppies). It was so much fun. But i am soooo tired today! My kitchen is a mess, my garden needs serious attention. But I have no motivation. I don't forsee myself exercising today.

      Hilda..its kind of "funny" because I didn't do OWL my last time on Atkins either...I just kind of ate. lol Which is probably why I failed with it.
      I am glad your blood glucose is looking better.

      Focus..its my son's birthday in a few days and it will be very hard to not cheat. What I did at my b'day (my hubby bought me a cake! I was mad ) but I ate one small piece. My other son's b'day last month..same thing..one small piece. I accept that I might not loose weight but as long it is just one piece and I don't gain, I can live with it.

      Did we scare Norman off?

        goodmorning buddies, It looks like it is down to the 3 of us, both Norman and Sham have vanished. It is cool and very grey out there this morning. It looks like we could get some rain at last. With all the forrest fires in BC right now they sure could use it. I am sitting at this 181-182 mark and it just won't move. I am sure I had to many calories yesterday even thought the carb count was under the 20 carb mark. It was just one of those extra hungry days for me. Well this is my first time on OWL so it may take a little bit to get it organzied, Just when I had the Induction down pat
        Well I am off to make some porkrind pancakes..sure wish the salt content in those things were a little lower though. I am sure a lot of my problem might be water retention. I am drinking between 128-144 oz of water a day and I am sure it is not all coming out

          Hi Hilda!
          You know, so far I haven't worried too much about Calories but I am starting to at least notice them. I really focus on my carbs..then the fat and protein. Right now I refuse to weigh because I know I am pmsing and retaining water.
          I am not too sure how organized I am on owl. It is one of those things where I find I really need to use fitday to keep up with.
          I need to go eat breakfast too. Though at this point it is close to lunch.

          Ps..I am having a few computer issues so if you don't hear from me for a day or two that would be why. Jane

              Who's vanished? I'm here. I just got into Miami. I rented a villa last night on the Gulf of Mexico. I ate enough stone crab that I'm walking sideways. I went alone and all I did was mess with my lap top, playing a silly simulation I'm into, Microsoft Train Simulator. Also played Fritz, a chess game. It was peaceful and the sky was just full of stars. I figured out the villa's latitude and longitude and entered the coordinates into the web site Heavens Above. That web site is dedicated to reporting observable satellites. Saw some rocket bodies and the Hubble, which was quite bright. I spot the International Space Station all the time from my main house in Miami. But my town house-condo in the outskirts of western Miami gives a better view of the sky and of much fainter, lower magnitude objects.

              I hope Sham's okay. I wonder if anyone has heard from her.

                    yes I use Fitday as well. I actually have the program on my computer instead of on line. Lots of times when we are down south in the winter there are times I have no internet so rather than not keep track I have the program right there.

                    I didn't do anything to day. Just have been feeling off for a couple of days.A headache that is just there but not bad. Hopefully it will finally go away soon. Maybe it is the change in the atmosphere..rain is predicted but still nothing.

                      Oh blah. Today is the first day I have really cheated. I wasn't all bad and it certainly could have been worse. I just feel so . I will be getting right back to being serious tomorrow.

                        Hi everyone, i confess i caved to all the birthday treats but it doesnt mean ive given up on this woe. Im back to induction as of today. Putting the pass week behind me and concentrating on what lies ahead. I want to do this woe for life so i shouldnt avoid all those special occasions but next time plan better for them. Im still constantly reading through the book for guidance. hope everyone is well x

                          Hi buddies, focus83 and Jane I hope you are doing good today. I have been craving something all day today but no idea what so as hard as it was I made sure that I only had friendly food. That was not easy let me tell you. I have nice fresh tomato out on the vine and I am sure that what I am craving is a tomato sandwich..REAL BREAD!!! mayo and a couple of slices of bacon..mmm. I know the bread is the only thing I can't have but the rest does not seem right without it. I went so far as to buy a loaf of Carb4 bread but I have not touched it..I put it in the freezer. I won't even mention this on the other thread because I know I will get yelled at for sure. Like you guys I just find it hard to be perfect all the time. Well almost the end of the day so I am going to have some shrimp done in butter and garlic for supper and one of those tomatos with a good size of mayo on it..
                          I am glad we have this thread even if there are only a few of us here. Night Hilda

                            Hi Hilda..and Focus..and Norman and anyone else who is out there.

                            I have done ok today. I need to get back on track after cheating. This is the hard part. Today I might have overdone my splenda by a tiny bit. And I had one little bite of mashed potatoes. It is difficult because of my garden. When I planted things, I thought that by the time things were ready, I would be further along. Today we had our first potatos. I am actually not that tempted by them but I had to taste them to see how they were (because I do 99% of the gardening...I had to see what my hard work tastes like).

                            I hope everyone is doing ok. I am about to drop so will catch up with you tomorrow. Jane

                              Hey buddies,

                              Hilda i know what you mean. I only feel safe confessing to you guys about a cheat because im hoping you will encourage me to get back on track but sometimes i think everyone else can be kind of harsh and make me feel ten times worst for caving in to something naughty. My problem is i can eat this way fine, i just find it hard to go through each rung cos i want to eat abit of everything now. And not have to wait weeks to get onto the next step. Im just too impatient!

                              Also I really like the idea of having some Tomato with some mozzella and some basil right now. Hmmmmm

                                Hi again!

                                Focus, we are here to help you however we can. It does seem to get harder for me as I go along because like you, I want to eat this and that (what I call "legal" cheats...stuff that isn't "bad" but stuff I am not on the rung for). I am trying to get myself on track because when I did Atkins before (2003) this is exactly the spot I fell off the wagon (there were other factors that contributed at the time but oddly enough, those factors are in my life once again also). I am rambling but just trying to say I am trying to be strong and we can do it together with our other buddies.
