  • One leg on the wagon and one leg off..

So, I've sort of fell off the Atkins wagon. Not too long ago I got a really bad case of food poisoning, I am guessing maybe salmonella. I was violently sick for days. You couldn't get me to eat a piece of meat. The thought of any of the Atkins recipes I had made, made me sick, and the thought still makes me sick.
The closest thing I can liken it to is being pregnant with morning sickness, and certain foods/smells just turning your stomach. That's what I am going through.
So, the last week or so I've been living off of house salads w/ ranch (which is Atkins friendly), and pre-cooked chicken wings, and I started eating 1 whole wheat wrap a day with lunch meat... which, obviously, is NOT Atkins friendly.
But that's all I've been eating, and while it's not on the diet, I have had very little hunger-- which is the same as when I was following Atkins very strictly.

So, I am at a weird place right now. I am still proud of myself for several things. I've given up diet soda and milk completely, and I haven't touched fast food since I started Atkins.
The only thing I am doing is having my ww wrap for lunch everyday. I don't know what my feelings are on it. I enjoy it, but I can't honestly say I am following Atkins if I do it. Although my carb count is under 25g a day.

So that's where I am right now. It's bittersweet. I am happy I am losing inches but I am not exactly happy I am not followng Atkins to a T like I have been prior to getting sick.

I'll update if/when I come back to Atkins fully.. 100%.

So sorry to hear about your salmonella, Bikini. That can be really really rough, as I know from experience.
I can understand how that can lead you to alter your eating plan a little, so kudos to you for keeping the alteration small and not falling off the wagon badly.

I'd make the move to OWL and try to forgo that ww wrap for just a little bit longer. It'll be tough to give up for a couple of days, and then all of a sudden you'll find it easier. Once you get to the correct rung, you can add it back in, or something similar.

Hope you're back to feeling yourself again totally, now.
