  • Induction High Blood Pressure?!

Since we started Induction (the right way) it feels like we have a fever, but we don't. Our faces are very hot and reddish.

My hubby has very high blood pressure, my blood pressure is perfect. Before this program we ate a diet of mainly carbs, not a whole lot of meat. We also ate a ton of fast food, like 5-6 times a week, sometimes 2-3 meals a day! His symptoms of high bp are pretty much what I am having right now too... does the first few days of this plan increase bp? Like I said, my bp is perfect, always has been, but I am having high bp symptoms too. I am very worried about hubby though, he is supposed to be on bp meds, but he won't take them. Stubborn man thing I guess?!

Is this normal? Will it go away? Do we need to stop? We can't see a doctor right now, hubby was laid off and we have no insurance. Help???

There is no point in going to see a doctor if he won't take his meds...

Being flushed is a normal symptom of induction flu and not an indicator of high blood pressure... you only have a couple more days to go to get over this hump...

I hear ya, the man won't listen to a word I say about going to see a doctor. Anyway, good to know that flushing is normal! How long does it last, is it just the first week?

I am so needing an energy kick, waiting patiently... LOL

This type of face flushing and feeling hot is a symptom of burning fat and the metabolism speeding up...it's a good thing. You might have night sweats as well.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Sa-Weeeeet!!!! We are going to buy Ketostix's after church this evening, we want to keep track of when we get into Ketosis and if our cheese consumption knocks us out. We feel that we need to have an idea of what we are doing inside, so Ketostix's may help!

I am really excited that we might be in Ketosis already!!!

don't expect the sticks to be an accurate measure of when or if you are in keotsis...because they aren't. Many people show no color and are in keotsis -- color has no basis on whether you are deeply into keotsis or not - most days when I was testing I showed nothing but was loosing weight. The darker the color the more dehydrated you are -- I wouldn't waste my money on them again.

If you don't go over the recommended amount of cheese daily you shouldn't have any trouble getting kicked out of keotsis because of it....you are suppose to be breaking old habits not feeding them.....

Hmm ok, we will not get the sticks then. The cheese is going to be a harder battle for me then anything else. I've gone for years eating cheese many times a day. I know that I eat too much cheese... its just so damn good! lol

                Re: Induction High Blood Pressure?!

I think I saw in another thread that you were taking some advice from a member of the board rather than following the plan. I hope that is not true. Maybe I misunderstood. Atkins created a very balanced diet that is good for our health and it is not a good idea to just jump onto some kind of band wagon.
Remember this is an anonymous place and who knows who all these individuals really are and what they are really doing.
All I am saying is follow the plan. It is a good one.
