    Re: why?

I am assuming from your screen name that you are a female, if so then to be honest the ups and downs come with the territory

Anywhere near that 'time of the month'? Constipated? Drinking enough water? Started heavy exercising recently? All these can cause weight fluctuations.

I think this is one reason Dr Atkins suggested weighing before starting induction and then after 14 days on induction, as weight fluctuations are normal and cannot always be explained. Try not to get on those scales till your 14 days on induction are up so you will not be made to doubt the way of eating
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        Re: why?

No worries, then. I always gain 2-3 pounds in the few days before my period, and it's usually gone (with friends sometimes!) a few days after I start. I usually gain 1 pound midcycle when I ovulate, too.

How much beer? If you drank more than one, you probably knocked yourself out of ketosis and it will be several days before you get back into ketosis and start losing again... in the mean time, all of your hard work of losing has been stalled and perhaps reversed...

Beer is not allowed on induction...
