  • New to Atkins Diet

    Began Induction phase 5 days ago. Sample day has been like 2 homade hamburger patties, grilled chicken breast with 1 cup greens and olive oil,vinegar dressing, hickory smoked tuna with same greens, an extra chicken breast, hamburger pattie, steak or tuna here and there. One day I had two slice of cheddar cheese.

    I have been drinking all water w/ maybe 1 glass of artficially sweetened tea.

    I have really watched out for sugar, flour and etc. I did cheat a bit by having a small cup of potato soup on day two.

    Just wondering if I am doing this right because other than being a little constipated and dropping 5lbs. have not been tired, hungry or etc. However, anything with carbs, the bad kind wants to junp off the counter and the eyes don't miss the fruit and dougnuts lol.

    Welcome to the Board.

    Looks good... well, except the potato. You should be eating 3 cups of vegetables per day, with maximum 1 cup coming from the "Other Vegetables" list. Also, over half of your net carbs should come from vegetables.

    Is your fat around 65%? You should aim for something like 65% fat, 5% carbs and 30% protein.

      Welcome to the board. It is sounding pretty good. If you're following the rules, your are probably good. More veggies may help with the constipation issue. If veggies are not enough you can use fiber supplement to more things along
