Hi everyone. Just a quick question.. I have been lifting weights for years. I find it very important to drink recovery shakes post workout. I am on the OWL Rung one. For my post recovery/breakfast drink I mix 4oz egg beaters, 4 oz water, 1 oz cream, 2 oz cream cheese, and One scoop of "Natures Best Isopure Zero Carb" Whey Protein powder, mulled flax seed (0 net carbs) and lots of ice in blender. I find this is the best way to avoid soreness and fuel my body for my next work out. I have this drink 3-4 times a week. Will the Whey Protien powder ruin me for weight loss and ketosis?

    Re: post recovery drink

Before you are on the dairy rung you would be more 'legal' if you use the protein isolates rather than just whey protein powder.

Adding extra protein could give you more protein than you need if you were not adding fat, but with your additions as listed I imagine it would not throw out your ratios too much.

Maybe work out (fitday.com is one site) the nutrition values for that shake and adjust if needed?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Just move up to OWL rung 2 and you will be all set... Whey protein shakes are allowed on rung 2. They do not hinder weight loss...
