  • Tips for moving up the ladder or on to maintenance

    Hi there-

I've been eating Atkins WOL for almost 2 months. I really like it. I haven't weighed myself in the last week, but my clothes are looser and I am down in weight a little. I don't have a lot to loose so I know it will take longer. I found out I am allergic to eggs so I have to avoid those for a minimum of 6 months. I also don't do well with dairy. I can handle a little, but it's best if I avoid it when I can. I have moved to rung 3, but I don't digest nuts well and I tend to eat too many so I am trying to avoid those too. I had some homemade almond butter (almonds and coconut oil) today on celery, but that's about it.

Anyway, since I am so restricted in my menu (no eggs, almost no dairy, and little nuts/seeds) and I have only about 7-9 lbs left to lose, should I be moving to maintenance or just keep going up the rungs? I don't plan to add wheats/grains back in ever (except for a rare treat like a holiday or something).

I actually prefer just eating meats and veggies and just eating more kinds of veggies, but it would be nice to have corn or berries or an apple once in awhile. I don't plan to add in fruits or high carb veggies until after my vacation (in 25 days) but I'm just curious.

What do you recommend? Thanks for your help.

    Skipping alcohol rung
    Skipping beans rung
Extremely limited rung 9 when I get there. Maybe once a week.

I think you should keep moving up the ladder. You're doing the right things by skipping things you cannot have. How are you with seeds? There are many good ones out there that are very nutritious.
So keep climbing and keep adding carbs to see how many you can eat and still lose till you find your limit (your CCLL)
