  • Having a hard time jumping back on the wagon...

4 days ago I messed up (junk food etc) and I haven't been able to get back on with the program as I keep giving in to food temptations

So has anyone got any advice to help me deal with food temptations and I'm quite desperate to get back on with the program.

I will appreciate any advice so please respond.
    Thanks

Some people can cheat and then jump right back on the diet... others (like you and me) cheat and then can not stop...

Now that you know that about yourself, once you get back on the diet you will know how important it is for you to not cheat...

Pick a day in the near future, tell yourself that is the day you are going to start, get the cheating out of your system, (and the bad foods out of your house) and then start again...

I agree that you need to choose a day, soon, and then mentally work yourself up to that being D Day. If you don't completely succeed on that day, then keep on trying for a perfect day til you get one. Once you have one, you will want to make it two,,,etc. Dont give up.

You need to figure out exactly how badly you want to loose weight and why. If you want it badly enough you will get back on track and stay there. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it is the only way you are going to be successful.

If you live with others who are still eating junk food then you need to stay away from it....I cook for my husband and mother who live here and who are NOT following the Atkins plan. I cook their food and my food - I don't bother with what they eat because I want this badly enough that their food holds nothing over me.

Get back on plan tomorrow and get started again.

          LOL thanks for that.
I read your post and set my mind to it and I DID IT. Today, Ive gone back on induction after 1 week trying to get back on.
And now that I'm back on Im not looking to fall back off again.

            Good for you

Make sure you have plenty of snacks prepared as well as planned meals so if you get the munchies you will have lots of 'legal' choices!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

When I use to cheat,I ended up off plan for a week. I didn't gain weight because I live a pretty active lifestyle now, but I ended up feeling terrible. What I do is, instead of planning to cheat, I make substitutes for the things I want that are higher in carbs. I make delicious low carb treats. You can really enjoy this way of life if you get creative. You will find that you can make almost everything you once enjoyed, but the low carb version of course.

yep the big thing is that you must be ready... you must be doing this life change for yourself.. if not that sometimes makes it harder to jump back on..

i have been off for almost 8 months and decided yesterday to jump back on why because i thought about how i have felt for 8 months terrible... why do i eat this junk.... i eat when not on atkins because i am afraid that i will be hungry.. yet while on atkins i am never hungry...

i believe in just jumping in and doing it... wake up and say this is the day.. seize your moment and continue your weightloss success..

                best of luck
