  • substitute for OJ?

I am making a marinade for chicken kebobs which calls for 1/2 a cup of OJ. My daughter has a juice box that says 10 carbs per half cup, so divided by 4 servings, it is not too bad. But does anyone have other ideas?

    Thanks.

Try McCormick's Orange extract. I think that would be induction friendly (similar to vanilla extract).

A juice box probably has very little orange. It is mostly sugar and water and some chemical. You could try some lemon. It is allowed has the same function as orange juice.

When a recipe calls for orange juice, I substitute less lemon juice and add about 1/4 teaspoon orange extract and orange zest, if I have it (I always do--I zest all my citrus and keep it in the freezer).
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Thanks - the juice box is actually a fruit / veg mix of orange raspberry and various veggies, I don't see any added sugar at all.

I will try the lemon and orange zest idea - you guys always come through - thanks again!
