    Re: low ccl

25 grams is actually an average CCLL... so not so bad.

When you increased your carbs above 25, what did you add? I'm wondering if you have an intolerance to a particular food, or to a food eaten in a certain amount. Did you experience any blood sugar symptoms (pp. 150-151)?

Are you exercising? Increasing your exercise level should increase your CCLL.

When you say you stop losing weight at >25 net carbs, did you try this for 4 weeks? If not, for how long?

If your CCLL is indeed 25 and there's nothing that can be done to increase it (like exercise), then I'd simply make eating from the higher rungs an occasional thing and not have, for example, yogurt, walnuts, raspberries in the same day. Then you'll be able to try new foods while still having most of your net carbs coming from vegetables and while still losing weight.

The fact that the stix do not change color could simply mean that you are not producing excess ketones above the stix detection threshold (which is a concentration measurement, not a measurement of the # of ketones) and all of them are being used for energy.

Ditto what Georgiana says. And I'd definitely up the exercise if you can. That's a sure fire way to raise your CCLL.

And you could still move up the Rungs....just use 5 net carbs for a Rung food.

thanks for the input.. the 25 is with adequate exercise it is much lower if i am not doing anything active.... i guess i will have to experiment to find what will work and allow me the variety to make it work as a lifestyle...

i am getting ready to get back on track, i have been off of the plan for almost 8 months and i know that carb laden foods are like poison to me.
my body truly reacts negatively towards carbs so why do i punish myself and eat foods that make me feel like crap just because i like them..... must look at the BIG picture ( in many ways!!!)

love this bb it has always been a site of grat inspiration.. lots of great friendly and knowledgeable people here..

            Re: low ccl

It might be higher than you think, depending on how long you've been doing Atkins. Most people find that they don't lose any weight in weeks 3 and 4, so if you're in that time frame, it might not be that the carbs are too high.

what kind of exercise have you been doing?

try also doing hard core full body muscle training like abbs.chest.triceps,biceps,legs etc a gym would help alot

and get people to help show you how to do the training properly

doing hours of easy cardio is not good at burning glucose out of your muscles its good for other things though

lifting super heavy weights with low reps is the best way to burn glucose out of your muscles just make sure you know how to train properly and safely

and for cardio at the gym max resistance 7-10 mins will help burn the glucose

when your muscles need glucose then the tiny bit of carbohydrates that you do eat 25 net will go straight to them so you should suffer no fat loss stall

you need to have been on the Atkins diet for atleast a month already for it to work

i think this type of exercise will help you get a higher CCLL
if you dont live near a gym it can be very hard to do though
