  • Family Reunion

Today my husband and I went to his family reunion in Peterstown WV. It was a wonderful time, lots of great people, and lots of great food. I had pork roast, crock pot, roast, green beans and green salad, along with some bottled water and caffeine free diet Coke. There were also lots of desserts, carrot cake, pumpkin bars, fruit, Waldorf Salad and a host of other sweet things. I'm fairly proud of myself for only tasting the fruit pudding dessert I got for my husband. Ya know it only tasted ok. At first I thought I'm gonna treat myself to a small dish of something sweet. Then I tasted his and I thought to myself, it's only ok, so there really is no point. So I don't consider it a full blown cheat, only a stumble...I do feel like I need a now though....lol

Slipping up has always been a reminder to me that bad carbs make me feel crappy. It's great motivation for not letting it happen again.

a taste is nothing to get upset about -- your tastebuds are changing....things you couldn't do without before won't even taste good from here on out.

Definitely a good job on eating the right things at the family reunion. That's so tough in so many ways.

The real treat is being on Atkins, losing weight and feeling great!
